No one has been going to Lady Evelyn Lake longer than I. This year was my 52nd...I went first with my Dad and Grandfather when I was 7. I have stayed at every camp more than once. WITHOUT QUESTION Island 10 under Bev and Ken's leadership is the best BY FAR. Accomodations are excellent, food is five star, staff won't let you lift a finger. I strongly advise anyone looking for a great, remote fishing Lake to consider Lady Evelyn and if you do why not stay at the best place on the lake...Island 10 Fishing Retreat. Once again, thank you for a great week. The cabin was perfect, the food was great, and the service was excellent. I look forward to coming back again and again. As your name implies, it truly is a "retreat" for me. Oh, I do have one complaint; could you please do something about the sun and 85 degree temperatures and the still waters...we only caught 100 or so fish as opposed to our usual 150 or so that we would have caught with a little wind and rain! Amanda and Shelly had the cabins very clean when we came back in from fishing. Chris and Justin kept the boats ready to go at all times. The food was phenomenal! Malcom is a great cook. This has been by far the best lodge/cabins I have been too in the 17 years I have been coming up to Canada. I am already looking forward to coming back next year. Thanks Again

What a wonderful time we had at Island 10. One of our best trips ever. Your entire staff and family are ones to remember. Not to mention that monster pike I caught. Ken........again it was 43.5", 21.5 girth, and approx 25 lbs. I must admit I caught and brought it to the side of the boat, but Skip had to get it in the boat I could not lift it! WOW, what a way to spend our 50th Anniversary. We can't thank you enough for the great week you provided for us. The special treat of our anniversary cake complete with sparklers will be remembered fondly. AND, the fact that Jack taught me how to catch the biggest Northern (27"), the biggest Walleye (22") and the biggest Bass (17"). (At least he says he taught me). Once again, you pulled off a minor miracle. How you take such amazing care of 25 or 30 guests, including incredible meals, cabin cleaning, boat service, etc., etc. is a mystery. I want to thank all of you for making my week at Island 10 a most enjoyable experience. Everything was more than I expected! You also cooperated by providing great weather as well as super fishing. I don't know how you arranged that, but I will expect it to be the same next year as well. Thanks to Andrea and Bev I managed to gain 4 pounds. Needless to say the eats were very top quality and the deserts fattening! I had a great time at your lodge this year. Once again, you have not disappointed me and made the 358 days of anticipation worth it. Just thought I'd drop you a line to say we had a great trip and I continue to look back on the week spent at Island 10 as the ultimate fishing vacation. It's rare these days that a place actually exceeds expectations from what is advertised on their website: you all did!. It's the best place yet I've found to forget who you are. We all came back to the regular day-to-day life grind fully recharghed and with a ton of great pictures and fishing stories. I have been heard to say, "It's not about the catchin, it's about the fishin." If I am to be completely honest though, I would also have to say that it is about the friendship and camaraderie, the impeccable service, the awesome food, the call of the loon, the back-bay moose, the northern lights, the star-filled sky, the solitude. I can't think of a place that I enjoy more or a place where I would rather be. From the moment I leave, I look forward to returning. Thank you, once again, for a great week. The place looked great. Thank you for your hospitality last week at Island 10. You sure set the bar high. I don't think there will ever be another fishing retreat/camp other than Island 10 in our future. Scott, Brad and I had a fabulous time and will be talking about the food, service, accommodations and the friends we made for years to come. Oh yea, the fishing was a blast too. Schedules permitting, we hope to make this an annual tradition in our family. The three of you are delightful people and your staff and guests reflect your personalities. Ken, you're one of a kind and had us laughing all week. The three of us are now saying, "yeah yeah, ohhhh yeah". All of your attention to detail did not go unnoticed. On Friday, Scott and I both awoke not feeling well and decided to return to bed after breakfast. We stayed in the cabin all day until dinner and when we returned, our beds had been made and bathroom cleaned. Although unnecessary, Scott and I were pleasantly surprised and will talk about the personal service we got all week. During my travels to The Homestead, The Greenbriar, Pinehurst and many Ritz Carltons, none can match the attention you gave us. Thank you!! Richard Owen
Watching you do that west facing smooth water landing in the late day shadows formed an impressive memory for me. As did Andrew's 23.5 (tail not pinched) inch blue walleye, my 33 inch pike and all those the huge bass and masses of walleye. Furthering the list is : drifting within 20 feet of a cow and calf moose drinking at the shore line, at least 4 separate bird of prey events one of which is taking a fish from the open water, the food and hospitality and service, are but a few of many outstanding memories the location, you and your staff and ultimately the fish gods provided for my brother and I. Just wanted to thank you and your great team for the wonderful time that Chris and myself had at your lodge. The lodge location on the lake is ideal and this makes getting to all parts of the lake an easy and enjoyable trip each day, no matter what part of the lake you want to visit. Although this was our first trip to the lodge we were able to find locations with fish everyday even though it is a very large lake! The boats are ideal for fishing and very well maintained by your staff. The food and housekeeping services are second to none and cabins were far nicer then I had imagined for a fishing lodge. I'm going to recommend your lodge to a couple of other friends of mine who also like to fish and I know would enjoy themselves as much as we did. I was up at Island 10 the 1st week of Sept. 2008 with my brother-in-law Bud and his two son-in-laws. They caught the two big walleye at the same time (27" & 29" - once in a lifetime). We all had a great time. The food was delicious and more than I could eat. Thanks Andrea, Bev & Teresa! I would like to say thanks to Mike, Tom, Jessie (Rookie) - they were always there in the morning and when you came in at night - great job guys! Our "American Plan" Fishing Vacation Package Includes:
Transportation to and from the parking area and Island 10- Welcome buffet upon arrival
- Private accommodations in our engineered log cabins, complete with electricity, hot and cold running water, showers, flush toilets, refrigerators and wood stoves
- Boardwalks between all cabins and the lodge
- Daily housekeeping service
- All bedding, linens, towels and soap
- Three meals per day - Breakfast and Dinner served "family style"
- Lunches are pack lunches or shore lunch kits complete with propane stoves, batter, oil, utensils, beans, onions, potatoes and your fish from the previous day's catch - which we will clean for you
- Evening Snacks & Pastries
- Coffee all day long
Boats - one boat per two or three guests- Each boat is a 16 ft Lund Stalker or Rebel boat with flat floors, swivel pedestal seating, anchors & cushions
- Boats are equipped with rubber landing nets, personal floation devices, bait* and electronic fish finders
- Motors are 25 HP Yamaha electric-start motors and come with unlimited fuel
- Boats are cleaned daily, bait & fuel is topped up when you depart
- Dock service is included as is fish cleaning & freezer service
- On nearby remote "walk-to" lakes, we also provide boats and portable motors
- Canoes
Topographical maps- *Nightcrawlers are always available, minnows in season only
- A float plane is available on site for emergencies

- No personal cheques, except for deposit.
- Deposits are non-refundable.
